Craftsmanship | Individuality | Sustainability
Emphasising simplicity and elegance in beautiful shapes, Unstitched strives to ethically create quality handcrafted goods. Every aspect of Unstitched, from design, to cutting and sewing, is lovingly done by hand in Sydney, Australia.
We are firm believers of creating fashion for individuals and not the masses so all our dresses are made to order. Crafted from locally sourced fabrics and trims, we don't cut our fabric until you've placed your order and made the dress just right for you.
We keep our fabric inventory "unstitched" as raw fabric is transformable and can respond to the needs of our customers. Unlike mass manufactured designs that end up in land fill if they don't sell, our inventory can be adapted along the way.
I'll admit, it's not your usual dress shop. You could say, it's a little Unstitched.
MEET THE MAKER
Hi there, I'm Annie, the founder, designer and maker behind Unstitched! Thanks for dropping by this part of the web, it's not everyday you get to meet the maker behind your future dress so let me introduce myself!
Self diagnosed dog-lover (sorry cat people), after graduating from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, I've worked in Australia, Hong Kong, China and Cambodia and seen first hand where our global fashion comes from. To see the way most garments are made and how the consequent waste, pollution and slave like labour impacts the planet and its people is frustrating.
I've always believed that if you want to see the change, be the change. I started Unstitched to create beautiful dresses but also a beautiful production process because behind every sustainable practice, is a thoughtfully created product that is thoughtfully purchased and used for a lifetime.
'Strength and dignity are her clothing, she laughs at the time to come.'
